Hello all,
Above is one image from three mornings spent at Holkham Beach photographing the Household Cavalry. The first morning, the Foot Guards arrived with some beautiful horses and even though the weather was bleak and very windy the horses and men seemed to enjoy the time out along the Norfolk beaches.
Take a look by typing in “Household Cavalry” into the search – or following this link: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/search?q=household+cavalry
Images can be found in – Places/Norfolk/Household Cavalry 2011 – also in Landscapes and Black and White categories.
The second day were the Blues & Royals and the third day, the best for the weather with a little warmth and sunshine, the Life Guards.
It was a privilege to photograph the horses, they were beautiful and wonderful to watch, and the men – who were great fun.
I was told that some of the horses had never seen the sea before, being used to the streets of London, but they had their saddles removed and were coaxed into the waves by their bare-back riders. A couple of them stood at the edge for a while and stamped the incoming waves. Others shied slightly but then went forward with the gentle urges of their riders. Great to see.
This week I will be showing photography at The Maltings, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, 10am to 5pm, 21st/22nd July.
The Coastal Photography 2012 Calendar is now on the website. http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/60-calendar-2012/4115-calendar-2012
For location workshops please contact. Each day is designed around the client.
Bye for now.

Hello everyone,
It has been over a month since my last blog, it has been a busy time. Above is one image taken while I was in Corfu, Greece. The weather was a little changeable while I was there but a fantastic trip. Look at the website for the new images http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/53-black-and-white also in Landscapes, Places Greece and Landscapes Beaches. Alternatively type “Corfu” into the search. More are still to come so keep watching.
My first attempt at underwater photography is also on the website type in “underwater” into the search to take a look. This ended up harder than expected. The undercurrent was strong and I was moving a lot, the fish seemed to clear as soon as I got into the water, but eventually I got something passable. Watch this space – it will improve. I did have a lot of fun though so I can’t grumble too much.
I also had a wonderful portrait session last month and a few commercial projects, two of which were a School/Academy Prospectus and a Company’s advertising which included wildlife photographs.
My Coastal Landscape Photography Workshops are now up and running. They range from one on one to groups up to four people. Each is individually catered toward the clients and can be a few hours up to a dawn till dusk. These can also be bought as a voucher and a special gift. Contact by email or telephone for prices and availability.
Portraits on the beach or a favourite location can now be bought as a voucher and a special gift too. Contact by email or telephone for prices and availability.
If anyone is interested in Coastal Photography workshops in Corfu, Greece 2012- contact me by email of telephone for details.
I will be showing at Blakeney, Norfolk, on the front, from Saturday 11th June to Friday 17th June 10am till 4pm. A selection of framed photographs and mounted prints will also be on display to purchase at the Picturecraft Gallery, Lees Yard, Holt, Norfolk from 30th June to 27th July and mounted prints are at Big Blue Sky, Warham Road, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk all year.
Well that’s all for now.
Have a great month

Hello everyone,
Nearly at the end of the month, 26th and 27th February I will be showing work at the Granary Theatre, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. Time 10am to 4pm. If you are in the area be sure to drop in and take a look, on sale are photographs of Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Europe as mounted prints, framed photographs and photographic canvas. There will also be a selection of photography greeting cards.
Well this month has been a bit bleak, weather wise, but with spring just around the corner, the daffodil shoots now starting to spring up in the garden, I think things are on the turn. I’m beginning to feel a little inspired to venture out with the camera after a couple of weeks chained to the computer uploading and updating. Check out the website to see the new images and feel free to email with comments on how you think I could improve the site. Watch the events section to see where and when I am next exhibiting too.
That’s all for now, I will blog again soon.

With an onshore wind of approximately 35kn I waited to see if the Hang Gliders that had accumulated at West Runton cliffs would actually take the leap. Coming from as far as Ipswich and Northampton they were setting up their equipment and checking the fluctuating speed of the wind and the direction very carefully before deciding to go. The decision to wait an hour was made and I took a walk down to the shore to find three white-water freestyle kayakers in the rough waves. The wind made it feel colder and I wondered how their hands must be feeling regardless of the wetsuits, but when they took strong strokes through the surf guiding the small kayaks and occasionally rolling over – it was quite impressive. The sea was unusually rough for an August day and the onshore high speed wind just worsened this – maybe a joy to the kayakers? When they finally emerged I had a chat with them - as usual with all the sports people I have photographed on the beaches – they were great. Take a look at the images at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/31-sport/page10
I arrived back at the cliff as the first Hang Glider was getting ready to fly. Again wind speeds and directions were checked, several men worked as a team getting him ready and then he was off. The glider soared and seemed to come to a stand still in the wind before turning and navigating his way along the coastline. Although the sky seemed cloudy and grey, in one direction it had a glimmer of blue and this is where I managed to get most of my shots. Because of the strength of the wind and the type of gliders different people had it was only possible for two to fly at this time but the afternoon was spent talking and the atmosphere was good. I can’t wait to do it again. Take a look at the images at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/31-sport/page11 and the following two pages.
Also take a look at West Runton photographs for distant shots of the hang gliders above the cliffs.
Bye for now
