If you look at the image above you can see with the vibrant, warm reflection over the calm sea, I felt truly blessed to be in such a beautiful seascape and to capture this one moment in time. I realise every time I photograph landscapes that this is not work to me but an absolute passion.
The reality of capturing this though, you may think that I was in a boat or on a jetty of some kind to take this, the truth is I waded in fully clothed with my camera and tripod. I also had my small dog with me and he was on an extension lead – still on shore. As the tide started to flow he indicated to me, with a bit of a concerned woof, that it was getting a bit deep. So this image was actually taken in the water, with camera and tripod and wet dog balanced on hip. Multi-tasking again. I took a few different angles and various settings, take a look at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/4-landscapes/4236-lss091111pan-skies-of-glory
To see other images look in ‘Landscapes – Sunsets’ ‘Landscapes’ and ‘Black & White with a touch of colour’ on the website.
In the last few days I have also continued with my project of nude art. I should be having an exhibition in November with these so keep watching for details shortly. Take a look at the new images at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/63-portraits-nude-art/page2
That’s all for now. Keep watching, I’ll blog again soon.

Well, back from a quick jaunt to Scotland. An eleven hour journey there on Friday followed by the same back on Sunday, left me with one day of photography – which was combined with a party, a meal out and some sightseeing. Hectic and I loved every minute. A contrast to the Norfolk landscapes with the mountains and lochs, still near water – which I love and, quite rare I was told – the sun was blazing the entire time.
The evening I arrived was a quick stroll with the camera but the light wasn’t that good and I didn’t know the area. So, I was up early on the Saturday morning but unfortunately not early enough. I forgot the Northern light is different and at this time of year the sun was already up and rising, which meant there was very little mist left around the mountains – disappointing for me as I was hoping to get some shots but I managed a couple of hours under the bridge at the Falls of Lora, Connel, before meeting friends for breakfast. Take a look at the results by typing “Scotland” into the search on the site. http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/search?q=Scotland
After breakfast I went into Oban, a lovely little town. It’s harbour lined with fishing boats and little stalls that cooked mussels and sold them in trays ready to eat on the quayside. There were ferries across to Mull and to Kerrera. I took the one to Kerrera and had a walk up to see the view over the harbour and Loch. There was a red and white lighthouse at the edge of the Loch and mountains surrounding. Beautiful place. From then it was back to Oban and in the midday sun it was time for a coffee and a sit down – to just watch. Late afternoon was eating again, followed by the party – Scottish dancing all evening – Strip the Willow was very fast. Even so, walking back to the hotel at 1am I was still thinking if I could sneak out to get some night shots, but as I was exhausted and had another early start to travel back the next day, I thought better of it. Only solution is to go again!
I’ll Blog again soon.

Hello everyone,
It has been over a month since my last blog, it has been a busy time. Above is one image taken while I was in Corfu, Greece. The weather was a little changeable while I was there but a fantastic trip. Look at the website for the new images http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/53-black-and-white also in Landscapes, Places Greece and Landscapes Beaches. Alternatively type “Corfu” into the search. More are still to come so keep watching.
My first attempt at underwater photography is also on the website type in “underwater” into the search to take a look. This ended up harder than expected. The undercurrent was strong and I was moving a lot, the fish seemed to clear as soon as I got into the water, but eventually I got something passable. Watch this space – it will improve. I did have a lot of fun though so I can’t grumble too much.
I also had a wonderful portrait session last month and a few commercial projects, two of which were a School/Academy Prospectus and a Company’s advertising which included wildlife photographs.
My Coastal Landscape Photography Workshops are now up and running. They range from one on one to groups up to four people. Each is individually catered toward the clients and can be a few hours up to a dawn till dusk. These can also be bought as a voucher and a special gift. Contact by email or telephone for prices and availability.
Portraits on the beach or a favourite location can now be bought as a voucher and a special gift too. Contact by email or telephone for prices and availability.
If anyone is interested in Coastal Photography workshops in Corfu, Greece 2012- contact me by email of telephone for details.
I will be showing at Blakeney, Norfolk, on the front, from Saturday 11th June to Friday 17th June 10am till 4pm. A selection of framed photographs and mounted prints will also be on display to purchase at the Picturecraft Gallery, Lees Yard, Holt, Norfolk from 30th June to 27th July and mounted prints are at Big Blue Sky, Warham Road, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk all year.
Well that’s all for now.
Have a great month

Hello everyone,
Well, we can’t grumble about the weather this time – we have had a little cool wind along the coast but to me this meant wave photographs. This month I have been photographing at Cromer, one of the Pier is above, also Blakeney, Wells-next-the-Sea, Happisburgh and Holkham. Keep checking the website for the new images, all have been posted.
In between this, I have photographed the lovely new steam engine at the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway, Wells-next-the-Sea. I took a trip along the line, which is looking lovely as spring is blossoming the countryside and the lambs are now in the fields we passed.
When I returned from this I got a couple of shots of the Alpacas before they were going on a trek. Their wool is becoming very thick now, when they first came to Wells they had just been sheared. Very gentle creatures and cute.
A trip on the Norfolk Broads ended in a couple of images of wildlife. See the birds section on the website.
This month you can find me showing at the Maltings, Good Friday and Saturday and at the Granary Theatre, Sunday and Easter Monday – both Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. 10am to 5pm. You can also find my photography in Big Blue Sky Gallery, Warham Road, Wells-next-the-Sea and Picturecraft Gallery, Lees Yard, Holt, Norfolk.
Well that’s all for now. Hope you all have a good Easter and if you are in the area, pop in and take a look at the Maltings or Granary Theatre.

Hello everyone,
Nearly at the end of the month, 26th and 27th February I will be showing work at the Granary Theatre, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. Time 10am to 4pm. If you are in the area be sure to drop in and take a look, on sale are photographs of Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Europe as mounted prints, framed photographs and photographic canvas. There will also be a selection of photography greeting cards.
Well this month has been a bit bleak, weather wise, but with spring just around the corner, the daffodil shoots now starting to spring up in the garden, I think things are on the turn. I’m beginning to feel a little inspired to venture out with the camera after a couple of weeks chained to the computer uploading and updating. Check out the website to see the new images and feel free to email with comments on how you think I could improve the site. Watch the events section to see where and when I am next exhibiting too.
That’s all for now, I will blog again soon.

Pop in - it will be warmer inside and this is my last event in person until the new year. Over the past few weeks I have photographed in Greece, Corfu, http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/4-landscapes/page17 Photographs can be viewed here and in the ‘Places – Greece’ pages, ‘Landscapes’ ‘Landscapes – Beaches’ and ‘People’ pages. In a short stay I managed to have sunshine and lightning storms http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/search?q=lightning&c= take a look. Still uploading for this so keep watching.
This has been followed by new shots of Norfolk beaches and marshlands of West Runton and Morston. Plus a visit to the grey seals at Blakeney Point with their new white coated pups. http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/8-animals-mammals-fish/page9 Just type where you would like to see in the ‘search’ or browse through the different categories at leisure.

Hello all,
Take a look at the new Hunstanton photographs on the site at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/17-beaches/page51 also at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/53-black-and-white/3572-l308710-into-the-waves With changeable weather the moods vary and light moves swiftly with the cloud. This is the beauty of Landscape photography - no control over natural light guarantees a challenge to capture the right image. A challenge I love.
This last month I have also been wandering to see what presents itself. My wanders tood me through the allotments where I came across some decaying sunflowers – a slightly sad sight although somehow very intriguing. There are a series of “Death of a Sunflower” in both the ‘black and white’ category and the ‘wildlife - flowers’ category.
Plus take a look in the ‘wildlife – animal’ section for Beatrice – the new rare-breeds Bagot goat kid, born in Wells-next-the-Sea. She is very cute and a joy for her owners as there are only a limited number of these goats left. While on the animal theme I also took a group portrait of the Llama family Larry, Inca and Lenny. Lenny is the cria Llama and is growing fast. Larry, the large male seemed a little daunting but he became a puppy when presented with a carrot. Need I quote the old saying - the way to a man’s (male’s) heart is through his stomach? It worked in this instance.
Keep looking at the website for the newest images, don’t leave it too late for Christmas orders and check the events section to see where I have shows running up to Christmas.
Bye for now,
Janice

A walk at Holme beach was a breath of fresh air on a beautiful September morning. I could count the people I saw on one hand, the sun was shining, a slight cool breeze from the sea and lots of birds on the shoreline. I’m still not good with naming birds but the Oyster Catchers were obvious along with the cormorants and the others were beautiful to photograph, so it doesn’t really matter to me the names, although I know I have been told to learn them by my more bird knowledgeable friends. The sand seemed endless to the cliffs of Hunstanton and a few distant kite surfers and wind surfers were visible in the waves. A lovely natural beach, where as I started my return, I started talking to a lone walker who described how they believed the sand had shifted and changed over the past years, pointing out areas that are now grasses and marshland which used to be sand.
Take a look at the beach and birds at: http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/17-beaches/page48 also in the Birds category and the new Black and White category. Type Holme into the search to view all.
My next local show is 24th and 25th October at the Maltings, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. Time 10am – 4pm. Pop in and see me, Christmas cards will be available then along with snow scenes and mounted prints, canvas prints and framed images.
From 11th November you can find a range of my canvas prints in the Picturecraft Gallery, Lees Yard, Holt, Norfolk. This event runs until lunch time Christmas Eve. Christmas cards and mounted prints will also be on sale here.
For a Christmas present or something special contact me for a portrait session. Ideal as a special gift or to treat yourself and can be done before Christmas or at a later date. A sample package price is on the website but individual requirements can be discussed. http://www.coastalphotography.co.uk/shop/49-portraits-booking-info/3161-portraits-booking-info
That’s all for now
