Single Handed Rowing Attempt - Wells

April 21 2013 – 2

Hello everyone, I have been having a break but I am back now and the first blog for a while is about a local guy Simon who I photographed in training. Simon Neale has been training to row a 13.3ft single handed boat from the Sailing Club, East Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea up the harbour and out rounding the Fairway Buoy, known as the Leading Marker, and back. Both outward and return will be partly against the tide in a single tide. Simon said that he believes this has never been done before.   He is raising money for local charities, RNLI Wells, Homes for Wells and Rescue Wooden Boats.   The event will take place on 19th May 2013. The Sailing Club will be open from 11.30am supplying cream teas, cakes from the Ladies Guild, barbecue by Homes for Wells, Tombola by Rescue Wooden Boats and the bar will be open.   Everyone Welcome.   To sponsor or donate please contact Simon Neale via his website and use the links provided at: www.fairwaytogo.co.uk   Other new images are now on the website, please take a look through. New to the website also, in the top right hand corner the two coloured dots are a link to my flickr pages. Images shown here can be bought through me or as uses from Getty Images.   I'll blog again soon.   Enjoy the sunshine.   Janice
