The Lake District
Hello,
Above are two images captured during my recent stay in the Lake District. A quick phone call to book a cottage in the lovely little village of Hesket Newmarket and I packed the car and the dog and drove up to have a 3 day break. The weather was not on my side, with lots of rain - I mean rain - the sort where your clothes are drenched - but this wasn't going to stop me. I had the backpack for Sebi (my miniature Dachshund) when the terrain got a bit rough, so he was happy and dry and I managed to photograph Derwent Water from Keswick, and from Watendlath, Ullswater, the Aira Force waterfall, around Hesket Newmarket and Caldbeck Common, then down to the coast for a couple of images of Maryport and Allonby Bay. It was refreshing to be surrounded by mountains for a change instead of the flat lands of Norfolk. I originally wanted to get some reflections on glassy waters of the Lakes but that was not going to happen on this trip with rain and cold. I did manage to get some 'moody' shots though which you can see on the website and some stock images, now available on the Alamy website.
